Masala Dosa among 10 dishes to try before you die
New York: Popular South Indian dish Masala Dosa has made it to the list of '10 foods to try before you die', compiled by the Huffington Post. The list, prepared by travel blog viator for the newspaper, includes dishes from around the world as a must-try for travellers.
Masala dosa features in the list alongside the Peking duck from China, BBQ ribs from the US and Teppanyaki from Japan. "The plate-covering, paper-thin pancake is made from rice and lentils, cooked to lacy perfection on a hot griddle. What creates the more-ish flavor is a spiced concoction of mashed cooked potatoes and fried onions, served with a liberal dose of garlicky chutney," the website describes masala dosa.
The list also includes France's Escargots, which are actually snails generally eaten as an appetizer, served in the shell and cooked in a delicious melange of garlicky parsley butter.
Moussaka on the list is described as the Greek answer to the Italian lasagne. "The dish is made by smothering layers of ingredients in a cheese bechamel sauce, and baking until creamily melted and golden." Other foods on the list are Zucchini flowers from Italy, Seafood curry laksa from Malaysia, Thai dish Som tam or green papaya salad and Pavlova from Australia-New Zealand.
"Sampling the local cuisine can help you make friends, understand the history, politics or religion of the place you're visiting and provide a lasting memory of your trip. Food and travel go hand in hand, and there's no better way to
delve deep into a destination than to try its most famous dishes," said the newspaper.

Google Glasses-Inspired Eyewear Translates Foreign Language Into Real-Life Subtitles
Here’s an innovative, simple, and exciting application to Google Glasses: foreign language augmented reality that translates text like real-life subtitles. Technology MacGyver Will Powell assembled a working concept of the product from a list of consumer electronics, and demonstrated it in a video of himself in conversation with his sister. Check out the video below. We’ve also pasted his description of the convoluted process the product takes to translate, below the video.
“The individual using the glasses be wears the Vuzix 1200 Star glasses which are connected to the s-video connector on the first raspberry pi and the Jawbone bluetooth microphone that connects to a device such as smartphone or tablet to provide a clean noise cancelled audio feed. The bluetooth microphone streams across the network of what I say and what it picks up around me. This is then recognised and passed through Microsoft’s translation API with a caching layer to improve performance of regularly used statements. Passing through this API service is the biggest delay in the subtitles. Once translated the server passes back the text and translations that are picked up by the raspberry pi driving the TV and glasses displays. Elizabeth uses a headset mic but could user her own raspberry pi, glasses and jawbone microphone to have the same experience as I do.”

The 16GB Nexus 7 Is Sold Out On The Google Play Store
Hope you got your 16GB Nexus 7 already. Google is no longer taking orders for the $249 model. It’s sold out. The product page on Google Play now sports a “coming soon” message and an input field for buyers to leave their email to be notified when the 16GB model is available again. The $199 8GB is still available with a shipping estimate of 3-5 days.
Citing sources close to Google, the Guardian reportsthat “the search giant seriously underestimated the demand for the 16GB version of its 7in Nexus 7 tablet.” Orders placed through last week will be fulfilled, but due to insufficient stock, Google is no longer taking orders for the model. There’s no word when the model be available again.
By all accounts the Nexus 7 is an impressive tabletwith an even more impressive price. It outshines the Kindle Fire in nearly every regard with a better screen, improved performance, and a better user interface. Google has a winner with the Nexus 7, which is confirmed by the short supply.
The Nexus 7 is Google’s first entry into the tablet race. While the tablet is built by Asus, it carries Google branding. In fact, as far as I can see, the Asus name is nowhere to be found on either theNexus 7′s product page or minisite.
A so-called iPad mini is rumored to hit the market later this year. With a rumored price of $249, the smaller iPad would likely steal some of the Nexus 7′s hype. Amazon is also rumored to release a revamped 7-inch Kindle Fire alongside a larger model that will directly take on the iPad. But as it sits right now, the Nexus 7 is the hottest small tablet available — but good luck getting one.

TOMATOMETER rating 8.0/10
Audience rating 4.6/5
TOMATOMETER rating 8.0/10
Audience rating 4.6/5
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.. -- (C) Warner Bros.

The Dark Knight Rises Preview
“Why do we fall?” That was a question young Bruce Wayne was asked in Batman Begins and it’s one that's just as important in The Dark Knight Rises, the final installment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga. Borrowing a page from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, the film finds an older Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) who has hung up his (gas-powered grappling) guns and retreated into Wayne Manor, now a recluse who needs a cane due to all his injuries sustained as Batman. Bruce hasn’t donned the cape and cowl in the eight years since Harvey Dent died and he took the fall for his crimes.
